We are living in a fantasy America?

During World War II the country was wildly patriotic. The U.S. is fighting a war on two fronts. We were called to Calvary, to save Europe and the defenders of honor and pride in the Pacific theater. People here cheer our successes, respectfully mourn those lost in battle, and the topic of conversation has been centered in the rule on war news. No wonder, pre-boomers grew the belief that this is the largest country in the world - what most of us was always the feeling.

The eventsPut in the coming decades, it was not disillusionment of the generation between 1930 and 1945. We were too busy with our careers and family formation, in many social issues, but our younger brothers and sisters, the baby boomers, jumped with both feet. While many believe that the pre-boom set the table for change was the baby boomers, some in the party. Civil rights, the rights and the antiwar movement, women were not too appetizing. Share

On the way to defending the rights of others and fight against everything and everyone for the causes they believed, Boomer, the same rights as they had expected. This is understandable, since for years as "the generation I have known." This attitude to work is not necessarily to their dreams. Often it will mean for things rather than work for them as buy happiness is an important part of life in the dreamWorld of instant gratification.

This critique of the most vocal generation in the history of our nation is not intended to diminish the contributions of different vintages. However, should however, if seen, not translated to their absolute number, the vast purchasing power and large voting power, volume Could not as remarkable as their own self-promotion heralds Are Being implemented. How is the current circumstances, the country that Washington address changes are required, and then transition into retirement has said.

What once was a nation of savers to spend money. The United States is divided into states before personal interests ahead of what is best for us all. Where once people pitched in to help others, we went to look on the sidelines rather than participate, or worse, show no interest in the events affected their lives. These attitudes have led us to ignore the last decade the warning signs ofDangers we face, both inside and outside the country. This attitude can also lead to a willingness to adopt the government - federal, state and municipalities - laws to reduce services and raise taxes, while individuals can do pretty much as they wanted.

The day of reckoning has arrived. Our world is not the same as it was. We can not trust our elected representatives to act in our interest. There is, accept where, in turn, to each other and talk about the future andwhat it means to us collectively. Pre-boomers (the New Senior) will begin to do so, and perhaps serve as an example of their commitment to others. Since the combination of community, civility, and connectivity could help the country meet and brings us back to the real world to live again.
